Brad has more than 25-years of architectural design and construction administration experience ranging from senior living facilities and residential multi-family projects to mixed-use retail centers. He has served as a senior project designer and construction administrator on a variety of large-scale projects, including numerous church, retail, multi-family residential, and government projects. He has developed a specialty in the review and analysis of exterior building materials, waterproofing, and roofing systems, as well as serving as an expert witness and providing professional third-party peer review services. As a project manager, Brad has extensive experience with new project design and production, staffing and client management, building envelope detailing, evaluation and testing, and repair design. His skill set ranges from the ability to design a project from concept into technical detailing and throughout the construction administration process.

Bio

Richard Sidoroff has 35-years of experience with highly successful regional and national firms including his own firm, RMS Architecture LLC, which he started in 2011 and subsequently merged with SBSA in 2014. Richard has provided services in building envelope third-party peer review, architectural programming, site and facilities master planning, urban design, architectural design, and interior design. His project expertise includes new design and renovations for educational, institutional, governmental, corporate, commercial, hospitality, and religious facilities, as well as single-family and multi-family housing. Richard led two projects that received AIA Colorado South Chapter Design Citation Awards: the Denver Newspaper Agency Headquarters Office Building and Denver’s Xcel Energy Steam Plant Screen Wall. Richard also designed exterior renovations for Denver’s The Curtis Hotel and building envelopes for Denver’s Cobbler’s Corner Mixed Use Urban Infill project, both of which received a City of Denver “Mayor’s Design Award.”

Bio

Mary Jean has more than 20-years of experience as an architect overseeing projects in commercial and residential design. Mary Jean has designed and managed a wide variety of project types including office, medical, retail, warehouse, multi-family, and residential. In addition to her design experience, Mary Jean performs building envelope observations, including evaluations of EIFS, stucco, stone veneer, natural stone, brick, hardboard siding, sealants, moisture management, and windows. She is also an ICC-certified Accessibility Inspector and Plans Examiner and a member of the Accessibility Professionals Association. Mary Jean performs accessibility design and site reviews of multi-family developments for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act (FFHA), Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS), Colorado Title 9 (Title 9), and IBC Chapter 11. This includes reviewing the construction documents for general conformance in the units and common areas and performing site visits to identify areas of non-conformance.

Ryan has experience in numerous areas of building design and construction, he is particularly knowledgeable in the area of building envelope systems, including air and moisture management. Ryan performs third-party peer review of construction documents to identify critical issues as they relate to the building envelope components. He also performs forensic investigations to evaluate existing residential and commercial buildings, determines the existence of non-compliant construction that is in violation of applicable building code requirements and industry standards, identifies resultant damages, and provides repair recommendations for private homeowners, homeowners associations, and commercial property owners. Ryan is certified as a Building Envelope Inspector (BEC-2), a Level II Infrared Thermographer, and a third party EIFS Inspector and Moisture Analyst. He has extensive experience performing testing of building components in accordance with industry test standards, including ASTM E1105.

Sarah has design experience in both the civil field and building science, performing building envelope observations, including evaluations of EIFS, stucco, stone veneer, natural stone, brick, and hardboard and vinyl siding, sealants, moisture management, windows, roofing, and parking garages. She is also a HAAG Certified Roof Inspector. Her observations throughout Colorado include code compliance and damage assessments for litigation purposes, as well as quality assurance for rehabilitation projects. Her design experience aids both her familiarity with code compliance and rehabilitation design. Design expertise includes site planning and layout, ADA, grading, utility design, drainage studies, and building envelope and roofing repairs. Before coming to SBSA, Sarah worked in civil land development design for single-family attached and detached, multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial properties throughout the Denver Metro area.

Paul W has experience in all stages of construction, from design, planning, and estimating to field engineering, forensic investigations, and testing. Through his professional and academic experience, Paul has acquired the expertise to conduct building envelope investigations and evaluations and to compose construction and design compliance reports. He has a working knowledge of the building codes and industry standards, which guide and govern construction projects. Paul has also passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Bio

Jonas has accrued over 11 years of project design experience, ranging from sustainable single-family homes, multi-family residential buildings, campus dormitories, international airport baggage handling systems, and even industrial machine design. At SBSA, his concentration is the analysis of building envelope failures and design, building systems integration, acoustic design, and fire-resistive construction techniques. Jonas is gaining increasing experience with project management and coordination, building information modeling, and incorporating Lidar technology into construction documentation. Jonas also draws upon hands-on experience as a carpenter and low-voltage electrician during his college years, which have influenced his field observation and building investigation work.

Chris has more than 20-years of experience in architecture. His experience includes serving as an expert witness, which has provided him with insight into how buildings, communication, and coordination can fail. He is well versed with a vast variety of project types, materials, and scopes as well as the difficulties that can occur and challenges that can be faced between initial client meetings and warranty issues well after the owner takes possession.

J.C. has experience on large-scale litigation construction defect projects, along with performance testing projects such as ASTM window testing and blower door testing. J.C. also has experience performing construction observations for building envelope and roofing projects and providing property managers with building component assessments. J.C.’s design experience includes assisting in detailing for roofing and building envelope projects. J.C. is also involved in continuing education through the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and RCI, a roofing, and building envelope trade group. Before SBSA, J.C. worked for a large oil and gas contractor in field construction helping to build a liquefied natural gas plant in Louisiana, along with previous experience managing turnaround projects in a refinery in Minnesota and helping with a civil/structural design for a gas plant in Mozambique.
